Lesson:
Womenomics
Womenomics used to be the buzzword in Japan. Half the population of the planet is women. The G7 countries are the most economically powerful in the world, and a high percentage of women in these nations have a university degree. Canada has the highest rate of female degree holders at 40%. Japan may soon surpass Canada, with 44.5 % of university students now female. Yet where are all the women in the Japanese workplace? Where is gender equality in Japan? Why is the glass ceiling nothing but a thick layer of men? What happened to womenomics in Japan? How can we finally modernize Japan and get it growing again?
