Lesson: Urban vs Rural
If you have watched any news about the US over the last 15 years, you know that they are experiencing a culture war. The urban-rural divide has been widening, but not only in the United States. Japan, Great Britain, Canada and the European Union have been witnessing similar trends. A recent reordering of the electoral map in Japan to better reflect the distribution of population has concerned the ruling Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), which is conservative. Typically, the LDP received most of its support from the countryside, but people are moving to the city. Globally rural areas are becoming increasingly conservative, whereas urban areas tend to lean more toward the left.
