Lesson: Ultra-Processed Foods
Ultra-processed foods are called that because they undergo multiple processing stages and often contain additives such as flavours, colours, and preservatives. They are typically low in essential nutrients and high in unhealthy ingredients such as sugar, unhealthy fats, and salt. Examples of ultra-processed foods include sugary drinks, packaged snacks, fast food, and ready-made meals. Consuming these foods regularly has been linked to an increased risk of obesity, heart disease, high blood pressure, and other health issues. Additionally, they are often high in calories and low in fibre, which can lead to overeating and weight gain. So, why do we eat them, and why do these food products not have warning labels? We know it’s important to limit the consumption of ultra-processed foods and instead focus on foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. What’s affecting our ability to make these dietary changes?

I will never test you on the articles, but I strongly suggest you book lessons far enough in advance to give yourself enough time to properly prepare. The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
