Lesson: Pass the Hat
At the end of every year, people’s thoughts tend to drift toward giving and receiving. Christmas is a time of giving, and in North America, there is a great emphasis on charity. They say it’s better to give than receive. I’m not a big giver myself, but Americans are famous worldwide for their charitable habits. Japanese are not known for giving to charity as it is not a part of the culture here, but the Chinese have a strong philanthropy culture. Charity, philanthropy and the culture of passing the hat is our next topic.
