Lesson: How do we Remember?

November 11, 2020, marked 75 years since the end of WWI. There are barely any people alive with first-hand memories of the war and its immediate consequences. Europeans and Canadians remember our war dead and war victims on Armistice or Remembrance Day, November 11 at 11:00 am. Germany and Japan also remember their war dead and victims but in different ways. Although Germany and the world have come to terms with how to remember, Japan hasn’t. How does Japan remember its dead? Should it remember them, and should anything change in the future?
