The fashion industry was transformed when fast fashion developed to instantaneously copy, mass-produce and then bring style to the masses. Fast fashion has become so successful that it is now ubiquitous throughout the world. Everyone from toddlers to well-known celebrities can be spotted sporting famous brands such as Uniqlo, Gap or Zara. All of this comes at a price, and it’s not the price you pay. It’s the price others pay in long hours, poor working conditions and low, or in some cases, no pay. Let’s look at the underbelly of fast fashion.
