Lesson: Communal Living
We often think communal living is for university students or young people trying to save money before they can get on the property ladder. Well, the times are changing. Now, communal living for seniors is taking off. Housing is expensive, people live longer, and pensions are insufficient to maintain a high quality of life for 25 – 30 years of retirement. Society has also realized that a high percentage of retirees live alone. These challenges can be rectified by communal living for retirees or even multigenerational communal living. Ageing, insufficient pensions and an increasingly higher cost of living are challenges most of us will have to face. The question is, are you ready for communal living in your golden years?
