Lesson: CBD Everything
I’ve picked another unusual topic. It’s one that you may know nothing about, but one I predict will soon become big in the Japanese newspapers. Here we go. Since legalization in Canada and Colorado, North America has experienced a marijuana boom. Initially, the people interested in using it as a recreational drug caused the industry to grow (pun intended). The emphasis was often on tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the chemical contained in marijuana that gives you euphoria. The focus has now switched to cannabidiol (CBD). I was floored when I read that CBD is available in Japan and that coffee shops add it to their drinks. There are various reasons for my surprise, and you can read about them in the articles for this lesson. After reading them, I’d like to know what you think about CBD in Japan.

Each conversation topic is based on a theme. In order to help students acquire a basic understanding of that topic, four media articles are provided for them to read. I will never test you on the articles, but I strongly suggest you book lessons far enough in advance to give yourself enough time to properly prepare. The better prepared you are, the more benefit you will receive from our conversations.
