Cryptocurrencies are becoming the new investment vehicle for many people. Many concerns surround this pseudo-currency, though. Questions such as what the value is based on and who controls it have yet to be answered. Currently (in 2018), Bitcoin is the king of the cryptocurrency world, a digital version of the American Wild West of 200 years ago. Although many people are already investing real money in Bitcoin, very few understand how it works. Security is a significant concern, as we saw with the recent (2018) heist of digital currency from Coincheck in Japan. Although we may think that Bitcoin is not a valid currency, the times are changing, and we could only be seeing the tip of the iceberg.
