Phrase: Written in the stars
It’s said that our future is written in the stars.
Who first said it, or how long ago was it first believed?
No one knows for sure.
It’s probably fair to say that since humans first looked up, they were fascinated by the sight of the night sky filled with twinkling lights.
Perhaps that is when the initial idea of an all-powerful force which controls our destiny first came to us.
It doesn’t matter when and it doesn’t matter how the realization first came to us.
All that matters is people, no matter how modern and advanced our societies have become, still look up.
We’re still trying to interpret what’s written in the stars.
Humans can remember and learn from the past.
Even though it’s hard, we do have some control over what we do in the present.
The future has always been a mystery for us.
We want to know what tomorrow holds in store for us, but tomorrow never comes.
When we look to see what is written in the stars, we do so because we believe some higher force controls our fate and destiny.
We want to think that by looking at the stars long enough, we will eventually be able to understand what both hold for us.
It’s the ultimate unanswered question: What will tomorrow bring?
Yes, we can plan and prepare, but from one moment to the next, we never know for sure what will happen.
They say there is no such thing as luck.
We do have limited control.
We must do our best to equip ourselves with knowledge and skills so that when and if the time arises and our destiny is revealed, we can grab it and run with it.
Will it happen?
When will it happen?
That answer may be written in the stars.
