Lesson: Workcation

Workcation is a blending of two words or, a portmanteau as it’s called, of ‘work’ and ‘vacation.’ The fact it’s a portmanteau is a little funny because a portmanteau can also be a large leather travel bag. The concept of where work takes place had been changing in The Before Times, but now, more than two years into a pandemic has very much become fluid. Taking a workcation is different than working from home. You take a workcation at a vacation destination but continue to work as usual. They say a change is as good as a holiday. If that’s true, a workcation should be as good as a vacation. Or not.
