Work around the clock

When people work around the clock they work all day long without any break. In emergencies it can be good, but not on a regular basis.
Rescue staff are prepared to work around the clock if they have to.

English Idiom: Work around the clock

When people work around the clock, they work all day long without any breaks.

During an emergency, rescue workers will work non-stop to save as many people as they can.

We in society see this as an example of their dedication to the job and admire them for it.

Thank goodness emergencies are not the normal state of affairs.

Under normal conditions, working around the clock will cause people to burn out and get sick if they do it for too many days in a row.

As I mentioned yesterday, we are all back in harness, and there is no long weekend until Ocean Day at the end of July.

Take care, and try not to work your fingers to the bone.

That’s all for today.

I hope you learned something.

Have a good one.
