Word of the Day: The fold

The fold is a place, such as your home or an organization, where you feel comfortable or belong.

For example, if you are a North American university student living away from home, you probably return to the fold every long holiday when everyone is happy to see you.

Once you get there, you can avoid the craziness of university life and become a homebody for the holidays.

Home is not the only place where you can feel comfortable.

Perhaps you’re a bookworm.

In that case, a movie watchers’ club would not be the best or the most comfortable group for you to join.

You would probably be more comfortable participating in a book lovers’ club where they would welcome you into the fold.
