Tantrum

When people throw a tantrum they are unable to control their anger. They throw things around, yell, scream or otherwise act like a child.

Word of the Day: Tantrum

Sometimes, people cannot control their anger and throw a tantrum.

In other words, they throw things around, yell, scream or otherwise act like a child.

I suppose they may even gnash their teeth and make evil faces. It all depends on the person.

On more than one occasion, I have seen a child in a grocery store or department store throw a tantrum by lying on the floor, kicking and screaming because their parents won’t buy them something they want.

Many times, the parents will walk away from the child and observe them from a distance until the child realizes that the behaviour is not working.

From time to time, in the news, we’ll hear about some super-rich, overindulged Hollywood stars or other famous rich people throwing a tantrum because they cannot get something they want.

Rock stars will trash hotel rooms, and actors will treat support staff poorly.
