Sweatshop

A sweatshop is usually a small factory where people work very hard for very little pay. A sweatshop often makes counterfeit goods.
All workers must be paid fairly for their labour.

Word of the Day: Sweatshop

We mustn’t take any wooden nickels during the holiday season.

We must also consider where the gifts we buy are made.

For example, sometimes we think we are buying an authentic product, but then again, it may be counterfeit goods made in sweatshops.

These places are often small factories (but they can be big) where people work very hard for very little pay.

They also often manufacture counterfeit goods.

Counterfeit products are illegal, and in most cases, they cannot be manufactured in legal factories; therefore, they are produced in sweatshops.

If you’re going overseas during the holiday season, be careful not to buy fake goods.

If you are caught bringing them back into your own country, customs and immigration officers may confiscate them.
