Stank

Stank is a slang word. It's not standard English. If you improve something and make it cool, then you put some stank on it.

Word of the Day: Stank (slang)

Stank can have different slang meanings. Some of these meaning are not very polite, but I am introducing a family-friendly sense of the word today.

If you improve something and make it better, and cool (it must be cool) then you put some stank on it.

I love muscle cars, and I enjoy being around a muscle car that has some stank on it. Put a wicked paint job on a muscle car, drop in a big engine and slap on a nice set of fat tires and you have created a vehicle that’s got stank.

Now, of course, there’s no accounting for taste and what’s cool to one person is pedestrian to another.

I like the colour green. Green and orange are my favourite colours. If you combine a muscle car with the colour green I’m going to tell you it’s cool.

You can also do the same to music.

Sometimes a piece of music is good, but it does not have enough vibe or energy – somethings missing, but you can’t quite put your finger on it.

In that case, you should bring the piece of music to someone else and let them listen to it.

Perhaps they can hear what’s missing and make some suggestions for how you can put some stank on it, then the piece of music will be much more lively and catchy.
