Word of the Day: Persevere
So, Billie, the turtle, has entered our lives and she has left our lives.
Billie has inspired my wife and I because she has the power to persevere.
Even though Billie the turtle is missing half of one of her legs, she continues living her life as best she can, even though it’s hard.
Persevering is the act of keeping on doing something even though it is very hard or challenging.
It is very similar in meaning to がんばって in Japanese.
Perhaps we can all learn something from Billie: the power to persevere.
She has created what teachers call ‘a teachable moment’ and enabled me to introduce slow and steady wins the race.
