Word of the Day: Hump day
A hump can be like a mountain or a hill.
Hump day is Wednesday, the middle of the week.
Think about the five workdays in a week as a metaphor for climbing a mountain.
We start to climb the mountain on Monday, continue climbing on Tuesday and then on Wednesday, we reach the peak of the mountain: we get to the top of the hump, it’s hump day!
We have lunch at the top, and then we begin our climb down again.
The great thing is, it’s all downhill from here. We all know that climbing up is harder than coming back down, but when coming down, we have gravity on our side.
Thursday is a full day climbing down, and then on Friday, we’re finished.
We are back at the bottom again, only to restart our climb again on Monday after a fantastic weekend doing what we really want to do.
So there you have it. Wednesday is the middle of the week, and on Wednesday, you have reached the mountain’s peak.
Wednesday is hump day.
