Word of the Day: Gurney
A gurney is a portable bed with wheels used in care facilities to quickly move patients from one place to another.
This type of bed can be found in hospitals, clinics, and even ambulances.
I don’t know if you have ever been on one before. But I can tell you, it’s a bizarre sensation to be lying down and moving at the same time.
One time, when I was on a gurney as nurses wheeled it down a hospital corridor, one of the wheels was wonky, and it flapped back and forth quite fast.
The flapping wheel caused me to have a rough ride.
