Word of the Day: Gumption
Gumption is the ability to decide what needs to be done and then do it with all of your energy and determination.
In everyday slang, we often refer to it as having the guts to do something.
Many people say they want to do something, but they develop a case of the jitters because they know it will be very challenging, or they may fail.
Finding a picture representing today’s word of the day took me quite a while.
At long last, after much thinking and searching,
I believe that I finally found one which best exemplifies its meaning.
The little goldfish has the gumption to decide it is time to upscale to a bigger bowl and the determination to make it happen.
On top of that, he also has a little more.
He can power through his fears and take a chance in hopes of attaining something more.
Will the little guy make it?
Let’s hope so because the alternative is not a happy thought.
