Word of the Day: Engrossed

Usually, when we are engrossed, we are giving all our attention to something.

We often say engrossed in/by/with (something).

For example, I am reading a fantasy book right now, and it is so good that last night, I became engrossed in the book and lost track of time.

Just this past Saturday, I became engrossed in a class, and instead of the class lasting the appropriate amount of time, it went way over!

To be engrossed in something means to be fully absorbed and focused on it, giving it your undivided attention.

This post is understandable by someone with at least an 8th-grade education (age 13 – 14).
