Canuck

Canuck is a nickname for a Canadian. New Zealanders are fondly called Kiwis and Canadians are tenderly called Canucks.

Word of the Day: Canuck

My favourite ice hockey team is the Vancouver Canucks.

Most sports teams have a nickname.

We have the Orix Buffaloes in Japanese baseball; the Brave Blossoms is the nickname for the Japanese national rugby team, and so on.

But I digress.

To get back to my point, Canuck is a nickname for a Canadian.

Americans are affectionately called Yankees, Australians are lovingly called Aussies, New Zealanders are fondly called Kiwis and Canadians are tenderly called Canucks.
