Word of the Day: Bombastic

Bombastic is a word used to describe a person who likes to use long and complicated words.

They usually do this to make themselves seem more intelligent or more important than they really are.

In most cases, people do not enjoy listening to bombastic speakers.

People do not enjoy listening to other people speak over their heads.

Preachers, teachers, politicians, doctors and ‘specialists’ can, at times, do this.

Preachers can lose followers.

Teachers can lose students, and physicians can lose patients because they are bombastic.

What about politicians?

Well, being bombastic is part of what it means to be a politician, I suppose.
