Believe

Believe means to think or accept something is true. If you say you believe the evening news, you accept what they say as the truth.

Word of the Day: Believe

Today, I will start with a straightforward word: believe.

Believe means to think or accept something is true.

If you believe the evening news on TV, you mean that you accept what they say as the truth.

If I tell you I’m Canadian and you accept that as the truth, then you believe that I’m Canadian.

Now, this should be quite simple to understand.

During the week, however, I will introduce some other terms using believe that have different meanings.

Be sure to revisit the site in the upcoming days because I’ll explain make-believe, believe in (someone) and believe in (something).

This post is understandable by someone with at least an 8th-grade education (age 13 – 14).
