Analogy

An analogy is simply a comparison made between two things. An analogy is often used to explain something simply.
Remember the movie Forrest Gump? Life is like a box of chocolates…’ That was an analogy.

Word of the Day: Analogy

An analogy is simply a comparison made between two things to explain something simply.

It’s a handy word to know.

I often use them in my classes to teach something that comes up during a discussion.

For example, we can make an analogy between the American presidential election and a footrace.

The first person to cross the finish line in a foot race wins.

The first person to cross the finish line in an election wins.

Therefore, the American presidential election between The Donald and Hillary Clinton is like a footrace between them.
