English Phrase: Without a hitch
Wouldn’t it be great if we could go through life without a hitch?
That would be the ultimate is a stress-free life.
The only difficulty is that thinking we can go through life without experiencing any problems is just a pipe dream.
A hitch is another way to say problem.
When something goes off without a hitch, it happens with no problems.
Most of us experience problems or hitches every day.
Sometimes, however, everything must go off without a hitch.
When a person jumps out of an airplane with a parachute, they trust everything will happen without a hitch.
If a jumper experiences hitches while falling through the air at an altitude of 4,000m, then the landing will not be one to remember because there will be no memories at all.
Every time a parachute jump, or anything else for that matter, goes according to plan, we can say that it went off without a hitch.
