Windfall

A windfall is a large amount of money you unexpectedly receive. Your windfall could be a tax refund or unexpected inheretance, for example.
I’ve been dreaming about this since the day I was born. Finally, I’m rich!

Word of the Day: Windfall

Halloween Jumbo is coming up, and you know what that means: someone will get an unexpected windfall.

A windfall is a significant amount of money that you unexpectedly receive.

Many people will purchase a ticket and dream about what they would do if they were to win.

However, most will not expect to receive winnings from the Halloween Jumbo.

Another way to receive a windfall is through inheritance.

You know that sometimes a relative passes away and unexpectedly leaves family members a lot of property or money.

Boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, I would love for that to happen.

Don’t get me wrong; I’m not hoping that one of my relatives kicks the bucket, but I could use a windfall just before Christmas.

It looks like I’ll have to buy a Halloween Jumbo ticket, cross my fingers and hope for the best.
