WotD: Trials and tribulations

Life is full of trials and tribulations.

Please don’t ask me why because I don’t rightly know.

All I do know, and I learned from experience, is that things test your patience in life, and nothing goes according to plan.

Trials and tribulations are the events in life that cause suffering.

Yeah, I know, it’s a great topic, but you know, that’s the way life goes.

The trials in life are the situations that test you.

I’ve never had a teenage daughter, but if you have or had a teenage daughter now, you know how much suffering the trials of life can put you through.

Then we have the tribulations, which are problems or difficulties that again cause great suffering.

An excellent example of tribulation is a long period of poor health.

If you’ve ever gone through an illness, you will know what I mean.

It’s one of those things that if you are lucky enough to get through it and come out healthy on the other side, you NEVER want to experience it again.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, though.

They say what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.

The trials and tribulations often make me wonder about the purpose of it all.

I think, though, I have figured it out.

My father always said, “No matter how bad you have it, someone else always has it worse.”

Yes, life is jam-packed with trials and tribulations, but surviving them makes the good times all the sweeter.
