English Idiom: Tickled pink
We have recently purchased a new car, and my wife and I are tickled pink.
Yes, we are delighted with our new car and the sense of freedom of the open road.
It has a standard 6-speed transmission to give us a better feel for the road and all the bells and whistles we could afford.
It is my wife’s car, and she uses it mostly to commute to work. It is a dream to drive, and we are both tickled pink with our new car.
If you are tickled pink with something, you are delighted with it.
The expression comes from the fact that when you tickle someone until they laugh, their face will turn pink.
