The Writing is on the wall

When the writing is on the wall we see signs that something bad is going to happen. We must prepare when we see the writing is on the wall.
Sometimes, it’s easy to see the writing on the wall.

English Idiom: The Writing is on the wall

It seems that the writing is on the wall for many of the old systems we grew up with.

China is up and coming, whereas the USA appears to be pulling back.

Just like in 1989, when the writing was on the wall for the old communist system, a new order is being born.

Perhaps the days of peace will soon be behind us. Was Putin’s announcement of new nuclear weapons a harbinger of things to come?

If you were to ask me, I’d say there are definite signs that unpleasant things are coming down the pike, and we will have to be ready to deal with them when they arrive.

Don’t get me wrong; change is good. In my opinion, the more change, the better.

However, for those who want to maintain the status quo, the writing is on the wall.

Things will happen, and those things will not be welcome to those who want things to remain the same.
