English Idiom: The writing is on the wall

The writing is on the wall refers to a future occurrence.

It means that something will fail, break, or something terrible will happen.

Most people have noticed that changes are going on in the world.

Each year, it seems to set new records for high temperatures, and overall, the weather seems strange.

Things are no longer going to remain the same.

Everywhere we look, things are changing.

It’s a sign.

The writing is on the wall, plainly written for us all to read.

The problem is many people prefer not to.

The world as we know it will be done and dusted if we don’t hurry up and realize what is going on here.
