The sky’s the limit

English Expression: The sky’s the limit

Let’s start super positive this week.

The sky’s the limit.

I’ve done this one before, but I’d like to give some encouragement to English learners, so here we go.

As a child, I was taught that I could do anything I wanted to do, that I could become anything I wanted to, I could go anywhere I wanted to go.

I heard this from my parents and teachers, on TV, on the radio, in books, and even in the newspapers.

The sky’s the limit means if you work hard and make the most of your opportunities, you can be anything and go anywhere you want.

There is no limit as long as you make the most of your opportunities.

The most important thing to remember is that you are in charge of what happens in your future.

If you want something, you have to work hard to get it.

All the limitations you place on yourself by saying, “I can’t do that,” are placed there by yourself.

Be positive, work hard, aim high, and believe in yourself; the sky’s the limit.
