Phrase: The luck of the draw
Although we try to plan most things and want to be prepared for the future, we can only predict some things.
Sometimes things that happen are just the luck of the draw; they happen purely by chance, and we have no control over them.
Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, right?
Chance is a funny thing.
Lady luck can smile on one of us and throw the rest into a lava pit.
When something occurs due to the luck of the draw, quite often, what happens next is our decision, though.
For example, it is common for lottery winners to go bankrupt within five years of winning the lottery.
Whether you win or lose in the lottery is not controlled (or is it), but what you do with the money after winning is your choice.
Although many things in life are the luck of the draw, many other things in life are up to us to decide.
