WotD: Tall order
Life is full of tall orders.
That’s nothing new, and it’s also not a negative if you are in the right state of mind.
You see, a tall order is something that is considered very difficult to accomplish.
When you first entered high school, you may have thought that getting through the next three years seemed like an impossible task.
However, we all do it.
We use the term to describe something very challenging, but facing challenges enables us to grow as individuals and professionals.
Most of the things in life worth doing are tall orders.
Graduating from university seems like a big one at first, but you quickly realize that paying for university is the real tall order.
Studying and graduating only take between four and six years for most people.
Paying for it takes much longer.
Then there is marriage.
A successful marriage is a tall order if such a thing exists.
Dating, finding Mr. or Mrs. Right, popping the question, getting married and living together for a few years is easy until you realize marriage is not a sprint.
It is two or three marathons run consecutively with no break in between.
You have to learn to pace yourself.
Life is full of tall orders, things that pose a high level of difficulty.
If you maintain a positive attitude and take one day at a time, you realize that life without challenges is not life at all; it’s only an existence.
Face your next tall order with determination and grace.
You’ll be fine.
