Saying: Take (something) with a grain of salt

If you take something with a grain of salt, it means that you have to realize or understand that it may not be entirely accurate.

It is good to be skeptical sometimes.

If you read that the government is going to lower taxes or increase spending on scientific research, you should wait until you have all the information before you decide if it is good or bad.

Never believe everything you read, hear or see until you have all the information; you should always take everything that you read in the newspaper with a grain of salt.
