Phrase: Take its toll
If you look at the news, you’ll quickly see that the lockdown is taking its toll.
People are starting to come apart at the seams.
When something takes its toll, it causes you some harm or causes you to suffer in some way.
I’ve been working from home for a little more than seven years now.
Yes, at first, it had taken its toll on my emotions and social life, but I have figured it out.
Let me give you some suggestions on how to prevent being stuck inside without anyone but your sleeping dog to talk to from taking its toll on you.
First of all, you will not get used to working at home overnight.
Like all changes, it will take some time to adjust.
Next, when you work at home, you are the boss, you are the one in control, and that means you are your own worst enemy.
Lastly, never put off until tomorrow what you can do today.
With these three points in mind, you can prevent working at home all alone without anyone to talk to and four walls for company from taking its toll on your sanity.
Those are the things I can help you with.
All you have to do is keep those three points in mind.
However, the binging on Costco chocolate-covered raisins, poor hygiene and excessive alcohol consumption are…oh wait, that’s me.
On second thought, I can’t help you.
Seven years of working from home have taken their toll on me.
Good luck.
Oh yeah, never use Wi-Fi.
Always use a hardline connection.
That will save you some grief.
