Staycation

A staycation is a vacation that you take close to home. A Staycation is a chance to switch roles and become a tourist in your city or area.
OK, Kumano Hongu Taisha may not be in your backyard, but it is in mine.

WotD: Staycation

When I was young and foolish, I travelled extensively.

Actually, I was a backpacker for ten years.

As I got older and wiser (my wife disagrees with the wiser part), I lost the travel bug, and now I prefer staycations.

A staycation is a vacation that you take close to home.

It’s a chance to switch roles and become a tourist in your city or area.

They had become very popular after the banking crisis in 2008 because people no longer had the money to take a vacation overseas, but they still needed to take a break to get away from it all and de-stress.

For what my opinion is worth, I feel that staycations are fantastic.

You can switch roles and become a tourist in your city or area.
