Word of the Day: Soulmate
Oh, my, dare I say it?
Valentine’s Day is two weeks away!
Have you discovered your soulmate yet?
It’s the time of year when people begin to think about Mr. or Mrs. Right.
Heck, some people are scrambling to find Mr. Right Now so they don’t have to be alone on Valentine’s Day.
It’s the third jewel in the triple crown of stressful romantic holidays.
First, there’s the one-two punch of Christmas and New Year’s.
Then, we have a few weeks to take a breather before Valentine’s hits us in mid-February.
There’s so much pressure to spend these days with our soulmate that it makes it hard for those of us who are not in a meaningful relationship to enjoy them.
Your soulmate is someone who is ideally suited to you.
We could say they complement you as a human being.
Some people are lucky enough to find that person early in life.
Others have to search for a lifetime before they are successful.
Then there are yet more people who settle for second-best.
When you find your soulmate, you’ll know because you will feel complete.
Some old guys are full of wisdom.
I was drinking in a pub in Fortitude Valley, Brisbane, Australia, one day (Yes, it was daytime, don’t judge me) and talking to an old Australian guy about women.
He said you know you’ve found your soulmate when you can sit together quietly, not talking, yet not feel uncomfortable.
I’ve been happily married to my soulmate for close to 20 years.
She tells me I talk too much.
I have some advice for you.
Never listen to old Australian guys in bars.
