Idiom: Small price to pay

Flu season is coming up!

Luckily, I’ve never had the flu, or at least I think I haven’t.

I’ve heard that having the flu is not a pleasant experience.

I’ve been told that the flu makes you feel miserable and lethargic.

If that is the case, then getting the flu shot is a small price to pay for avoiding or, at the least, reducing the effects of the flu.

Yes, it may hurt a little, and going to a pharmacy, clinic or hospital to receive the flu shot may be troublesome, but isn’t it worth the trouble?

And that is precisely what the expression a small price to pay means – worth the trouble.
