Phrase: Put the fear of God in you
Even though we are living in strange times, coronavirus, climate change, or the threat of nuclear attack is like water off a duck’s back for many people.
We’ve been dealing with a pandemic for almost two years now.
Millions have died.
If that hasn’t put the fear of God in you, recently, China threatened a nuclear attack on Tokyo.
If you are Japanese, you probably are not aware of this.
Ignorance is bliss, as they say, and it was not top news in Japan.
Being an avid newspaper reader, I can tell you that the threat did put the fear of God into the Australian military.
They immediately began to create plans for what they would do in the event of a Chinese nuclear attack on Japan.
People have a way of adapting to the current situation, whatever it is.
It’s almost impossible to put the fear of God into the general public anymore.
When you do that, you make someone very afraid.
Coronavirus did put the fear of God into me, and I waited with bated breath for a year and a half until I could get the shot.
I’m double vaccinated so that I can breathe easy.
I hope you are or will be soon.

It’s hard to understand why the threats we face do not put the fear of God into people.
Even climate change has failed to do so.
All of my vegetables drowned this year – everything.
I got three cucumbers, a handful of blueberries, and some peppers and eggplant during the entire summer.
This has put the fear of God into me.
How about you?
