WotD: Power walk
A power walk is for people what a long drive is for diesel engines.
Diesel-powered vehicles are meant to be driven.
If you don’t drive a diesel-powered vehicle often and for long distances, the exhaust will not become hot enough to destroy the particulate matter which diesel engines are famous for creating.
The more the motor is driven, the healthier it is and the more efficiently it operates.
These days, with the lockdown closing gyms and causing people to sequester themselves indoors, they have gotten out of the habit of exercising often and moving a lot.
This is where a pleasant power walk comes in mighty handy.
A power walk is a brisk walk that you take often while carrying weights.
Of course, if you bring your own weight, the others are optional.
Those who know me know I LOVE to walk, and I love to walk long distances.
I walk 10 km on a bad day and up to 15 km on a good one.
Twice a day, every day, weather permitting, of course, Sorachan and I can be seen making our rounds of our community.
Not everyone has the time or stamina for that kind of walking, but most people can get in a power walk or two during the day.
They say when you power walk, you should carry weights.
I suppose those love handles you have are good enough.
If you work remotely at home, there’s no reason you can’t go for a 15-20-minute power walk during your lunch hour.
Since you are not commuting now, why not continue to get up at the same time but go for a brisk, early morning power walk around your neighbourhood?
The more you move, the healthier you are and the more efficiently your body operates.
