Word of the Day: Plethora

Say the word quietly to yourself.

Plethora.

Isn’t it a lovely word?

Why would you say something dull, such as ‘I have many choices’ when you can say ‘I have a plethora of options’?

That’s what plethora means: a large amount of something, perhaps even more than you need.

I believe that life is never dull, and I never have time to be bored because I have an endless variety of activities to choose from every day.

Let’s consider libraries for a moment.

Public libraries are ubiquitous in Westernized nations worldwide.

All you need to do is get a library card, and the world opens up to you.

Perhaps that is a little too much trouble for you, or the weather conditions make it inconvenient to visit a library when the mood takes you.

In that case, there are a plethora of free books online from which you can choose.

It’s impossible not to find something interesting once you start looking.

That’s the beautiful thing about life: the plethora of choices we have.
