Idiom: Peace of mind
First things first, peace of mind is not what your wife gives you when you make her angry.
That would be a piece of her mind, and I’ll do that idiom shortly.
Our world for the day is much more pleasant than that.
Peace of mind is how you feel when calm and have no worries.
These days, meditation is quite popular.
People are flocking to websites such as Headspace or yoga classes, looking for ways to find peacefulness and calm in the hectic rat race of this modern world.
You may even have heard of slow TV.
Something such as watching a video of a train moving through the wilderness of a Scandinavian country for hours on end.
All you can see is the tracks and the beautiful scenery as the train makes its way from one city to another. It’s calming and gives you peace of mind.
