WotD: Overwhelmed

Hi there, fellow humans!

Have you ever felt like you’re drowning in a sea of tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities?

Do you sometimes want to crawl under your desk and nap until the world stops spinning?

You know you are overwhelmed when your brain is trying to juggle too many things simultaneously, and it feels like everything is essential and urgent.

You feel like you can’t cope.

It’s not a pleasant feeling.

But fear not, dear readers; there are ways to avoid or at least lessen the feeling of being overwhelmed.

Here I am, your friendly online English tutor, with some tips that have worked for me:

Prioritize like a boss.

Make a list of everything you need to do, and then rank them in order of importance.

Focus on the most critical tasks first, and only worry about the rest once you’ve completed those.

The list is your key to sanity!

Learn to say no to unnecessary things or what you don’t have time for.

It’s okay to decline, delay or delegate tasks.

Take breaks and breathe.

Taking breaks throughout the day is vital to clear your mind and refocus.

Take a walk, stretch, or close your eyes and breathe deeply for a few minutes.

Smile.

Sometimes, the best way to deal with feeling overwhelmed is to laugh.

Find the humour in your situation.

Don’t take things too seriously.

After all, laughter is the best medicine, right?

Remember, you are in control of your life and schedule and can handle anything that comes your way.

When feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath, prioritize, say no when necessary, take breaks, and smile.

You got this!
