WotD: New blood

The New Year is here, and with it comes inevitable change.

It’s a fact of life.

When it comes to business, one of the best ways to force change is to inject new blood.

New blood means people with a lot of energy or fresh ideas.

No, new blood does not have to mean youth.

Mature workers who are new to the company can be an injection of new blood as long as they come with new ideas and a fresh way of doing things.

It’s not always easy to accept change, but change brings with it opportunity and vitality.

It can be hard to adapt, adjust, and welcome a new environment when faced with change.

New blood brings energy and fresh ideas into the workplace.

I firmly believe in the power of positive thinking.

If you are reading this, you are a survivor.

You have survived the pandemic and countless other challenges.

The older you are, the more you have endured.

The great thing is that you are always young enough to be new blood.

We must keep up with the times and adapt to new ways of working, or we risk being left behind and out-competed by new players in the market who have embraced change.

The same applies to individual employees or the self-employed, such as myself.

Don’t look at new blood as competition.

If we do, we risk becoming complacent and disengaged.

Look at new blood as a learning opportunity, no matter how old they are.

Resolve to be invigorated in 2023 by the fresh ideas of new blood in your company or industry.

Don’t hesitate to show initiative and share your thoughts if you are the new blood
