WotD: Mondayitis
Today is Monday, the day for Mondayitis.
If it sounds like a disease, that’s because it almost is.
Mondayitis is a general feeling of negative emotions that a person has on Monday morning.
You may be wondering how you got it or why you have it.
Many factors can make us suffer from Mondayitis.
Some of those reasons include: not sleeping enough, having a lot to do during the day, or not eating well over the weekend.
According to a well-conducted study (I asked my friends), the principal reason why so many people suffer from Mondayitis is that it’s Monday!
When Mondayitis sets in, you feel that life is meaningless, and the end of the weekend feels like a crushing blow.
It is hard to drag yourself out of bed.
Some people hate Monday mornings.
They want to stay in bed all day after a weekend that was too short.
Others, the British call them nutters, and Canadians don’t talk to them at all, just can’t wait to get back to work on Monday morning because it means they have a chance at being productive again, or at least that’s what they think.
There is no known cure for Mondayitis.
Many petitions have been written and submitted to the relevant authorities requesting that Monday be removed from the workweek.
As of when this post was published, none have been successful.
The only good news I have for you is that Mondayitis is fleeting, only lasting 24 hours.
Oh well, Sisyphus has his rock, and we have Monday. Let’s get on with it.
