Phrase: Make the most of
Nothing is ever perfect.
It’s too hot in summer and too cold in winter, and if you plan to have a picnic, Murphy’s Law states that it will rain.
So, what’s a person to do?
Well, the only thing you can do is make the most of every situation and live your life as best as you can.
To make the most of a situation means to enjoy it as much as possible, no matter the circumstances.
People who are happy most of the time have a positive outlook on life and always find a way to make the most of a situation.
The miserable ones fail to make the most of the conditions they find themselves in and instead complain about the things they can’t control.
The summers are becoming unbearably hot in Japan.
That’s just a fact.
You can’t change the weather, so get up early in the morning to make the most of the cooler hours before it becomes too hot, and you shrivel up like a raison.
For winter, purchase a nice warm coat and try taking up some activities that require movement.
I come from Canada.
Canadian winters are brutal, but you stay alive as long as you move.
Northern people find a way to make the most of all the snow and cold by taking up winter sports such as ice skating, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing.
Sure, life can suck most of the time.
However, when life gives you lemons, the people who enjoy life make the most of the situation and make lemonade.
Be positive and make the most of whatever life throws at you.
