WotD: King of the Road

Everyone wants to feel like they are the king of the road.

You may have heard the song “King of the Road” by Roger Miller – it perfectly captures the joy of the open road and that footloose and fancy-free spirit.

Imagine being the king of the road, going wherever and whenever you want, with nothing tying you down.

Whether you’re a backpacker, hiker, or someone who longs for a simpler way of life, you can enjoy being king of the road.

It’s time to break free from the constraints of everyday life and pursue a more relaxed way of living.

Get ready to feel the wind in your hair (I don’t mean to offend those who no longer have hair. It’s just an expression.), embrace a devil-may-care attitude, and meet amazing people as you embark on an adventure of a lifetime.

That is the feeling I miss the most from my youth.

I backpacked for ten years, never staying in one place for very long and never having long-term friendships.

I loved being king of the road even if I was on foot and it was 35℃ outside.

Now I long to relive those days again.

There’s no more backpacking for me, though; I’m too old for that.

This time it will be the RV lifestyle – #Vanlife for me.

One day soon, I’ll hit the open road and travel all the highways and byways of Japan while being free and getting away from it all.

I’ll buckle up and recapture the feeling of being footloose and fancy-free.

Oh, to once again be king of the road
