Have you ever been mistreated or felt like you were given a kick in the teeth?
If so, you know how difficult it can be to overcome the feeling of being wronged.
Everyone has experienced a kick in the teeth at one point or another.
Whether it’s from an employer, a friend, or even a family member – it can be hard to bear.
It’s not always easy to know how to respond when we feel like we’ve been maltreated or insulted.
Of course, your boss will not literally kick you in the teeth.
We say we have been given a kick in the teeth when we feel that some event was especially embarrassing, disappointing or upsetting.
For example, if you hear that one of your childhood heroes has been arrested for a heinous crime, you may feel disappointed and upset because you once held that person in such high regard.
You feel pain as if you have been given a kick in the teeth.
It’s times like those when friends can help us process our emotions and offer comfort when we’re hurt or discouraged by insensitive treatment.
Their caring advice can make all the difference in getting through tough times.
Sometimes at work, a desired promotion or pay rise fails to materialize even though we feel we deserve it and had picked up positive vibes from our manager or boss.
Being passed over is never good and can feel like a kick in the teeth.
Don’t let these things keep you down.
