English phrase: In for the long haul
If you hear that someone is in for the long haul, it means they are willing to work at something for a long time or for however long it takes to complete.
Think about The Donald, for example.
Everyone thought that he was just a fad.
At each stage of the process to become president of the United States, many people thought he would not make it, but he did.
Even though many people wish otherwise, he has proven that he is in for the long haul.
The question now is, how long is it going to be?
